Jenny Slate Gave a Commencement Speech to One Student on an Island

Jenny Slate gave a commencement speech at an elementary school, but the graduating class only had one student!

The 37-year-old actress spilled on giving the speech at Cuttyhunk Elementary School, which is located on Cuttyhunk Island and only has a population of 10 people

“She was the last student to graduate from her one-room schoolhouse. She’s an eighth grade. I gave the commencement speech to her graduating class, which was…her,” Jenny explained.

She added that she wasn’t even requested by the student, who wanted Michelle Obama or Oprah to come!

Jenny continued, “She told the Times she didn’t really know who I was!”

She added that it thankfully all went really well, saying, “She was really cool and she’s wonderful and the main fact is that she live on an island and goes to school by herself and still has more friends than I did as a teenager!”
