Naomi Campbell is all smiles as she strikes a pose at her Fashion Awards 2019 Announcement held at The Ritz on Monday (June 24) in London, England
The British supermodel is being recognised for her incredible contribution to the fashion industry, her world- renowned career as a supermodel, as well as her philanthropist work with charities and incredible efforts for a more diverse and equal future, especially in Africa.
The British Fashion Council will honor Naomi Campbell with the Fashion Icon Award on December 2 at the Royal Albert Hall.
“I was lucky with the opportunities I got and specially the first black model to appear on the cover of French Vogue in 1988 which was a very special privilege,” Naomi said in a statement. “But after that, it was quite a long gap, so I never forget how much work there is to do still in respect of diversity and equal opportunities.”
“She has achieved exceptional work in the industry,” said Caroline Rush, Chief Executive of the BFC. “Naomi represents female empowerment, activism and glamour and her voice is used for great impact.”
