Ashton Kutcher Testifies in Court Over Murder of Friend in 2001

Ashton Kutcher testified on Wednesday (May 29) in Los Angeles County Superior Court for the trial of Michael Gargiulo, who is accused of two counts of murder against two women.

One of the women, Ashley Ellerin, was casually dating Ashton at the time of her murder back in 2001.

Ashton and Ashley were supposed to go on a date the night of her death, February 21, 2001, and Ashton tried to call her but did not get a response.

Michael allegedly had killed her that night by stabbing her 47 times.

Ashton‘s testimony included showing up to Ashley‘s home the night of her murder and seeing what he thought were “red wine stains” after peering through a window (which was later identified as blood.)

Ashton said he thought the stains were normal as Ashley had recently held a housewarming party.

Ashton also allegedly admitted that he was worried about the police finding his fingerprints on the doorknob of Ashley‘s home the night of her death.

At one point, Michael‘s attorney told Ashton he was not a suspect in the case to which Ashton replied, “Ya, thank you.”
