Natalie Portman Reveals She Accidentally Texted Meryl Streep Invitations to Her Family's Jewish Holidays

Natalie Portman stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers on Thursday night (December 13) and revealed that she had been accidentally texting Meryl Streep invitations to her family’s Jewish holidays.

“I had a weird Jewish holiday thing this year,” the 37-year-old actress recalled, explaining that her cousin, Meryl, moved from New York to Los Angeles with her husband last year. “We’ve been inviting them to all our Jewish holidays and everything and the last three holidays she didn’t reply.”

“I was like, ‘Did I do something to offend her? Did I hurt her feelings? Is she holding a grudge?’ I was like, ‘She’s totally not that type of person.’,” Natalie continued. “So I looked when I went to text her, I realized I had two Meryl’s in my phone book and I’d been texting Meryl Streep. I was like, ‘Oh no!”‘

Natalie also talked about sparking conversation with her film Vox Lux, growing up famous and recording Sia‘s music for the film – Watch more after the cut!
