Kate Bosworth is opening up about the important message in her new film Nona.
The 35-year-old actress took the stage at Build Series to discuss the movie on Thursday (December 6) in New York City.
“My husband is Michael Polish and he wrote, directed and also actually shot this movie…and he was driving home from work one day and heard on the radio a story about a sex house that had been busted not so far from our home in Los Angeles,” Kate explained.
She continued, “He said, ‘I feel like there’s a very important narrative story to be told here.’ We knew what human trafficking was but didn’t know what to do about it…It becomes faceless somehow. So we thought if we could connect the humanity and the empathy to putting a face with human trafficking then perhaps we could make a difference.”
