Moissanite is a next-generation gemstone that offers the same brilliance as a diamond at a more affordable price.

It is extremely difficult to distinguish from a diamond with the naked eye, and because it reacts to standard diamond testers, it has the characteristic of being difficult even for professional appraisers to identify without specialized equipment.

Its origins trace back to a mysterious mineral discovered at a meteorite impact site, often referred to as a gift from the stars.

Like diamonds, its primary component is carbon, and scientists in the United States successfully developed a method to synthesize it in a lab. Today, it is attracting attention as a new material that combines some of the highest levels of brilliance, clarity, and excellent durability of any gemstone on Earth.

In terms of hardness, it boasts a high rating of 9.5, second only to diamonds (hardness 10), making it robust enough that almost no material other than a diamond can scratch it.
